Gametag is a very controversial website. There are a lot of feedback about them. Very little positive feedback. They are rumored to scam a lot of customers. Nonetheless there is very little feedback about them on the web. They have been having a lot of traffic in 2009. If they were scamming that many people, there would be much more feedback about them.

The account seller market is very hard to review since they are a lot of scammers amongst their customer. A lot of people have been living of account scam for a few years. They are just selling an account to a website and try to reset their info via Blizzard customer service.

We didn't find out if they were bought or are just scamming people randomly.

Anyway, there are several points that make them look a lot like scammers, be extremely careful if you choose to deal with them. Here is how we investigated their case:

1/ Testimonial can be easilly forged

Their testimonials are dating a lot. They didn't join any kind of third party rating program or any kind of business certification website (bizrate)

2/ Livechat is only working with an automated agent

We didn't manage to get in touch with a "real" agent. That doesn't bode well.

3/ Internet web release

Is Gametag owned by Gamepal? We will inquire a lot about it in the coming weeks. Here is what we got on them:

ALL WEBSITES that we found to be linked to GAMEPAL. If you are not familiar with Pings and whois, those sites are obviously owned by the same person who is using the same webhost. He is keeping the websites on the same account, hence the close IPs. They even played with the DNS to avoid us to fin more websites...
